ONE Product Design
Challenge
Large companies frequently carry unrecognized risk based on a lack of visibility into operational obligations throughout the enterprise. These obligations are usually governed by policies, but operational compliance is often difficult to enforce and measure.
In addition, the environment in large enterprises is increasingly matrixed, and the decision-making process around these obligations is often based on collaboration and internal negotiations that gets lost in the black hole of email.
All the above creates hidden risk that can result in liability related to
Reputational harm
Directors’ & Officers’ liability
Legal action/lawsuits
The founder of this early stage startup had a clear vision, but found it challenging to communicate it to stakeholders and team members. There was little or no product documentation, and the first customer, a global advertising conglomerate was expecting a fully-functional first release
Action

Result
The initial early adopter release of the platform was to 2500 users at a global advertising conglomerate. The conglomerate used the platform to launch a new policy on working capital and enforce compliance with two core products: Policy Viewer and Digital Approvals Engine.
Despite the fact that the rollout of the policy and platform coincided with the peak volume for these types of requests, the platform launched smoothly and adoption was near 100%. In fact, it was so well received that the initial wave of new users was quickly extended to additional areas of the enterprise. As might be expected, follow-up research identified some minor usability issues that were addressed in regular weekly releases.
